Where to buy a good computer chair?

This crappy chair from Ikea is really getting uncomfortable. Since I spend a lot of time on the computer I want a good chair...I know Staples and Office Depot sell chairs but you know, buying furniture from an office supply store doesn't strike me as the best option. Are there any other stores which might sell good desk chairs at reasonable prices?

Office Depot's chairs are overpriced and crappy.

Go to Office Max. They have a much bigger selection for a lot less.

I'm pretty sure that your butt hurts for reasons other than sitting in your chair for long periods of time. :Q

Yep, and they usually have one or two discontinued models for dirt cheap. The chair I'm sitting on right now cost $15 at Office Max.

I agree office depot seems overpriced but I don't now where else to go. There is no office max around here. We don't have a Sam's or Costco membership.

I don't want a big bulky "executive" chair...I want a comfortable, "smaller" computer chair with armrests, preferebly one that is adjustable...but it has to havea good cushion. The problem with chairs nowadays seems to be the padding seems to flatten out after only a few month's use.

I'd second the mention of going back to eithe OD or Staples......you'd vastly overpay in a furniture store for an office/desk chair, and since office supply stores have office supplies and furniture, it'd be a natural for OD or Staples, the two with the largest selection of those type stores, to have something you'd want.

OD is having a huge markdown on their chairs right now.......and offering $25 off any chair over $99, in addition to any sales markdowns currently in place.

What I'd honestly recommend is NOT buying a chair from the 'net......never could understand how people buy a chair or speakers without ever sitting on it or listening to them. Every chair sits differently and every speaker has a different sound. Just because a chair is comfortable for someone else doesn't mean it'll fit you well, too. Same for speakers.....just because one person thinks they sound great doesn't mean your ears will appreciate them the same way.

Man if I could get an Aeron chair for even $250 I would take it. But they for $500 on ebay...so chances of that are zip.

Ive sat in one of those and i thought it was ok. I would still go for a nice leather one over the aeron. I love the leather :)

The problem with leather chairs is they aren't adjustable...so if you want to sit at a computer in one for more than an hour it's not great. And leather chairs won't look good where I want to put this. :)

Get the imitation Aeron from either Office Depot (made by Russell). I got mine for around $100. Much more bang-for-the-buck and it's such a close copy that I'm surprised they were not sued!

Hmm. I am going to go to OD today to check it out. Last time I went I knew they had some "mesh" aeron-like chairs but the ergonomics didn't even come close...they didn't recline the same, didn't provide the same support, etc. But even if it's not the same if it's decent I might get one.
