Ok I've sifted through the huge amount of articles regarding the overclocking of rev B Tbreds for the 1700, 1800 and 2100. Sorry for posting what is essentially an allready crowded topic but i have a limiteded amount of time here in the US as I wiill go back to the UK beggining of Feb.
I was hoping one of you Anandtech forum guys might tell me who is selling the 1800XP tb rev B chips. Ive gone through the OC.com article and the ones on New Egg are rev A's. I don't trust ebay for something as specific as that and ive gone through things like googlegear etc.... still no rev B's
Where can i actually get hold of one of these chips, reviews of them are everywhere but i don't know where to buy the chip.
As a side not i have purchased the Epox 8RDA+ and 2 sticks of 512mb pc2700 RAM. All i need now is the heatsink and CPU *I have other components back in UK WD 120GB 8mb buffer etc....*
From the reviews 1800+ seems to be best value for $ to OC value. And im now a little strapped for cash so although the 2100 is tempting I really would prefer the 1800. As for heatsinks i was thinking of the SK800. What i wanted to know though is if i get a low RPM 80mm fan for it will i still be able to overclock to a decent level on the 1800+. I don't want to hit any fresholds on it 2.1 ghz stable would be nice though. Sorry i know its a lot of questions in one post, hope someone can help
