Take her to shoot pool if she's into it. Then a light dinner.

And as always this is just MHO

21 years ago I was faced with a similar question and wanted that first date to be special. We went to an art museum followed by a light deli-type repast. Been married that that same "date" for 19+ years now.

(FYI: For our second date I took her to a Golden Gloves match. :D)

a dinner and movie is standard, I would somewhere you can talk, like a country side drive or a walk around the lake followed by dinner. Make it stand out for the norm atleast you on the right start by having a plan :)

I've always done the movie and dinner thing.

its could be a reason why I'm perpetually single.

Alright. The reason I've been thinking movie/dinner might not work is because it's too damn ordinary and is too predictable. And I'm in New york city, there's gotta be something to do. I'm thinking ice skating in the rockerfeller ctr. rink, but I can't skate worth a damn and I'd prolly make an ass outta myself. Other than that, I'm low on ideas.

Is it a daytime or evening date? If day then try something interesting and educational like a museum, art gallery, etc., then there are naturally things to talk about (all around you) if the conversation seems at all strained.

Comedy Club
This is good for finding out if she's got a good sense of humor.
Billiards/Bowling
Conversation and activity, this is a light and fun thing to do
IMAX Movie
I tend to believe going to the movies on a first date is actually a bad thing. There's absolutely ZERO conversation. But if you GOTTA go see a movie, make it interesting with something like an IMAX show.
Dave & Busters
Don't know if you guys have one of these around you, but the idea is it's a Game Arcade for Adults. Video Games, Billiards, Dinner and Bar. Get her drunk and play games, ahhhhh that's the stuff!!
'Chatty' Dinner restaurant
If taking her to Dinner, go to a restaurant where you can conversate easily...Unless the Dinner is a quick prelude to something else.

Now, don't forget to wear your condoms young man!

Yeah, um, I hate to disappoint you all, but I'm only 16, so something a little more in my age range would be appreciated. And uh, about the condoms remark, that's not my goal .... yet.

At 16 condoms BETTER be your goal unless you wanna end up with a child before you graduate high school. Or else you could probably get a role in this movie.

Take her hunting and shoot some deer. Then you will also have dinner for the night.

someone said rollerskating...

PURE GENIOUS!!!

the best thing is to make sure he/she feels comfortable...yet can find you amusing or interesting, and like with rollerblading you can talk and focus on good stuff, not how much the dinner was.

Hmmm.... Id say this, go eat at a nice restaurant, not benigans or chilies, dont act to HSish!! Then go to a park and just swing or walk around, girls love being pushed in swings. Then a movie, but renting a movie is better then theatre, cant talk in a theatre and making out in a theatre is hard to do, damn armrest!!

If I ever open up my own business it will be a theatre that has nothing but loveseat chairs and cubicle like seperators:D
