The humanoid like "people" in all the star wars movies call themselves human, but they are obviously NOT since they are from a place and time before humans existed

It's stated as a fantasy from the get go so they don't really have to give any reasons for anything. But a nerd response would be that the movie is obviously set WAY WAY in the future when mankind has long ago colonized the whole galaxy. Likely man kinds origins are lost to the mists of history by this time. Earth may still exist but it's just another inhabited planet amongst thousands and thousands. Similar to the later foundation novels.

Just because it says a long long time ago, doesn't mean it's not in our future. It's just being told from a time further in the future, OP.

Besides, everyone knows the humans got there through the Stargates!

Okay, "Long long ago in a galaxy far far away.

Now, why can't that be in our timeline looking back? The Universe is 15 billion years old. The Sun is 4 billion years old. That's 10 billion years (Okay, lets say 5 billion, giving the universe time to cool first) in which other suns in other galaxies could have fostered life long before we came about.

The question is who or what killed them. And if they're still alive, where are they?

Pretty sure Vader boned Padme in the prequel many times, with and without the artificial prosthetic arm.

it was common for earlier sci-fi to cast aliens as just like humans. now we add facial ridges and shlt so it's much more scientifically accurate.
