One thing I find very strange is the pro war guys who claims that Sadam obviously had WMDs because he played games with UN/US. What kind of statement is that?
First, he's the supreme leader and dictator of a powerful country, you don't need a degree in psychology to see that he wouldn't like to be pushed around. He wants to play it his way.
Second, you really need to know a minimum of the Middle East?s people?s view of the western people. We are considered amoral pigs, living in luxury doing nameless things with all our neighbors? daughters while we drink alcohol and eat pig meat and we are non believers. For the common man in the street it's considered a Good Thing to trick or fool a western foreigner. Even if that will cost him in the end. Sadam don't have to be that stupid, it's more than enough that the people of Irak get a good laugh every time the inspectors went to another empty storage or got stoped at a road block on their way to a site.
