News release in September said release would be October.

Well it's november and I can't even find the new raptors on WDs web site.

Anyone in the know that can tell me how long I'm gona have to wait to build my new computer?

Seems EVERYTHING is 300 bucks now, I must be paying CEO bonuses or something..... ;)

UlricT - that just means it isn't in stock yet (notice no inventory info), it is basically the definition of not in stock at axion.

It says December 12 again. The price is $289, which is pretty good considering it isn't released yet, it should drop down after the holidays go by to maybe low to mid $200s. Hope so... I want this thing!

Where and how much is the 36GB 2nd Gen drive?! I can afford that one but not the 76GB model.

Well, here we are a week before the 12/12 date, still nothin on newegg or zipzoomfly (read: a site I actually TRUST.)

No kidding. @ $300, the 74GB drive is more expensive than 2 36s. I'd rather have RAID 0 anyway. (Backup your stuff! ;))
