I have a Gigabyte GA-7DXR motherboard, and i was wondering in which slots i should put my network card and sound card in? Also, if anyone else has the same motherboard, what config do you have?

thanks

The only rule of thumb I've heard is to not use the first PCI slot (the one closest to the AGP port) as it sometimes causes IRQ conflicts with the graphics card when installed.

Have the same motherboard. Here how I have mine, so far very stable w/ Windows XP, Athlon 1.2 MP, 256 MB DDR, not overclocked yet

PCI1 - none
PCI2 - Linksys LNE100Tx v2.0 Fast Ethernet Card
PCI3 - Adaptec 19160 SCSI-3 Card
PCI4 - Aureal Vortex2 SQ2500 Sound card
PCI5 - none

thanks mcveigh. I will not be putting them anywhere other than in my motherboard. Although, you may have different ideas... :Q
