I have a 160Watt Cd Player, So I need 160Watt Speakers, 4x6. Where could I go to get them cheap? I also have a question, if I have a 160Watt Cd Player, I cant have 800Watt speakers, can I?

Your deck probably does 4x40W max. Even getting 160W speakers would be under-powered unless driven with an amp.

You don't have a "160 watt cd player", so you don't need "160 watt speakers". Just get some middle of the road speakers, since you don't have an amp, it won't matter. If you do get an amplifier, make sure you get speakers that can handle the amount of watts that your amp puts out.

So, I can get the 800W Speakers to work with the 160W cd player if I got an amp? I have no knowledge in this field, thanks for the help.

Yes, but there is no reason to.

You could get 1,000,000,000,000 watt speakers, and they would work.

I think he means that no CD player will actually put out that kind of wattage, except maybe if it was struck by lightning.

Ok, so I have a 160W Cd Player, That is all I know. I need 4x6 speakers for my 99 Daewoo Lanos. How many Watt speakers would you get to get the most out of the cd player?

Edit: Without the need to buy an Amp.

Dude. It doesn't matter. Just get some middle of the road speakers. Don't worry about the watts. Get whatever your local audio supplier recommends. Spend around 50-80 bucks for a pair.

Look pretty generic to me. I'm against buying generic crap, so i'd advise against it. Are your current speakers broken? You won't get much of a sound quality difference with new speakers over your factory. If you are intent on buying a pair, go with a name brand (clarion, pioneer, kenwood, rockford fosgate, sony, etc..) . Those brands are all in your price range.

That's like... Honda ricing math!

Cold air intake (10HP) + warm air intake (5HP) + removal of air filter (5HP) + Pennzoil synthetic (3HP) + lightened accessory pulley (10HP) + tubular exhaust header (5HP) + gutted cat (5HP) + mandrel-bent exhaust (20HP) + straight-through muffler (5HP) + ceramic-coated strutted pistons /w low-friction ceramic skirt coating (10HP) + aluminum flywheel (3HP) + etc...

Pick up a pair of Pioneers, or Infinity's depending on how much you want to spend. In your case, you could walk into Best Buy and buy one of the cheaper pairs of Pioneer, Sony, RF.

I'd recomend some Infinity Reference, they are very efficient and sound good even off a headunit. You can usually get them around $30 shipped off ebay. Stay away from Pyramid.

The power rating of speakers ONLY means that they can continuously handle that much power from the amplifier (although some crappy companies will not release the continuous power handling of their speakers, just peak).

If you're serious about your SQ, or you want to get a start on some nice car audio, go to thezeb.com and check the $150 CDT Audio Cl-61a component set.

EDIT: Never mind that, you don't have 6.5" speaker mounts.

Yes, I think one of them is blown from what people have told me.

I didn't make up theoretical peak power ratings - I'm just stating the facts.
