I have had alot of relationship troubles lately.....me and my girlfriend just broke up after 4yrs.

So I am planning to go on vacation.....


I will leave from st. louis mo.

I need to keep the price reasonable....

I'm not sure where I wanna go but, I just need to get away for awhile.

any places you Anandtechers go to get away from it all?
Any info would greatly help my vacation search....
 
What do you like? Hunting, gambleing, surfing, scuba, getting high, clod weather or warm?

How much buget?

I don't know how to surf but, I would love to learn....
Scuba is fun

I would prefer somewhere warm but with that nice ocean breeze, yeah know...

Oh yeah and I'm a 22yr old male if that figures into the equation

Ive been to Hawaii 8 times (my family went there every christmas growing up)....

I love it but, I would like to go somewhere new, I dunno though running around hawaii on a moped sounds likie a pretty fun time.
 
I just found out that I have a free ticket with united airlines (from built up mileage) that will allow me to go to one of these places:

Alaska, Hawaii, San Juan, St. Thomas, Aruba, San jose(costa rica)... among a few other places or I could use less miles and fly anywhere in the contigous 48.

anybody know much about: St. Thomas, Aruba, or San Jose?? I've never been to any of those cities.
 
I read this thread, and I before I got to your Frequent flier miles post, I was going to suggest Costa Rica. I'm going on FF miles too 🙂

I'm going to Costa Rica in a week. There's alot of natural beauty in the country. Rainforests, beaches, volcanoes, white water rafting . I've been checking out a bunch of stuff online.

Yeah, Key West is GREAT. Just watch out for the flaming homos downtown. I went to Europe in May (WONDERFUL), but it was a bit pricey. 🙁
 
If you're going solo, and can afford it, definitely go Club Med Cancun! It's one of their adult-only clubs (meaning no kids - not XXX) and you're almost forced to meet people. Plus you'll meet people from all over the world. All-inclusive: food, drinks (at the meals), activities - snorkeling, water-skiing, kayaking, etc. Some people never leave the village while others venture out to the city and other site-seeing excursions (additional $$ of course).
 
My friend just broke up with her boyfriend. They have 2 tickets to hawaii including airfare, hotel, and car rental for 2 people for 5 days. I think they're trying to get rid of it for 2k i think.

EDIT: N/m. The plan leaves this wednesday. I think you gots to leave outa LAX.
 
Another vote for Europe... You can come visit me in the Netherlands this fall 😀

Hawaii

EDIT: Oops, since you dissed it . . . try San Diego. Cool climate and decent beaches . . . well, our water is only 69F but there are waves and its a cool place to vacation (plus, California girls are the best . . . I didN'T say "easy").

Well, we're still on the subject of Hawaii . . . did you also visit Kauai, Maui and the Big Island? There's lot's more than Oahu.

And S. Cali is a great place to vacation (also). Plus you get to drive to N. Cali along Hwy 1 (awesome drive - one of the best in the world).
 
San diego is really cool I went their when I was seventeen and went down to Tijuana, it was a really good time.


On the Hawaii thing, I have visited Oahu and the big island quite extensively.

I really like hawaii and san diego but, I am wanting to try something new..


Aphex thanks for the invite, their are so many places to go and so much to see,
I keep going back and forth between Europe and the warmer climes like hawaii and the Carribean

if I go to Europe I will definitly get a Eurail pass, I did that the last time I went and it was great.
The netherlands are cool espically the much undiscovered southern part around Masstrictt
 
go to europe
either england or spain (dunno about germany italy haven't been there)

lets just say the spanish are hot and if u can't speak spanish very well it gives ya quite a bit of time to think or whatever.....and they party hard at night sooooo that might help
