Bummer. I've had bland Satay and horrible peanut sauce as well. All the restaurants probably get their peanut sauce from the same source these days.
I believe peanut sauces has always used this for the source:

I never ask for anything Thai hot unless I've been there before given the huge variation in spice levels. This place's Hot was like a Mild from a place near home.
The secret is to like food as hot as possible!

White Castle would have been the better choice but it's your life.

Unless it's a terrible, terrible Thai place there is no way in hell any burger, however godly, is going to compete!

The neighborhood features a White Castle, an Applebees, a TGI Fridays, and a Five Guys. You know that any Thai or Chinese places in the vicinity are going to suck.

Well you never know, around here there are a few people you can phone up and they will cook you Thai to pick up in their kitchen and I live in the sticks.

Hell, even my local pub serves this...

Hey now - there is a McDonalds, Wendy's and Burger King around too. And an Olive Garden if you want some authentic Italian food.

At first I was going to say you weren't helping your argument, but the Olive Garden bit made the facetiousness extra clear.

At the last place I worked we had an office in SoCal and one of my favorite things to do when I was out there was tell them "I love coming down here for the authentic Mexican food. I'm going to out for lunch and get some" and then come back with food from Taco Bell

Depending on the name the Finance people may object when I submit my expenses. There was a brief question about Strip Burger in Vegas back in the day.

If you can't pass off "House of Breasts" or "Flesh Flesh Flesh!!" as a chicken joint and a steak house you don't deserve to have an expense account. The first thing my boss taught me when I got my first expense account was how to cheat on it.

There's a burger place in town by me that gets the seasoning just right with the burgers, they get the buns from a local bakery, and serve some excellent duck fat fries. To top it all off, they make their own ice cream and have the best milkshakes I have ever had the joy of experiencing. Did I mention that their wings are great too?

This explains your profile picture.

Asians don't like chicken breast. Dark meat is fattier fattier thus jucier and tastier.

Its funny I lived in Thailand as a wee lad but I don't recall ever having Satay until we got back to the states. Now it's a must appetizer every time we have we go to a Thai restaurant.

white castle is cool, if you go with your stoner friend after spending the whole night chasing after neil patrick harris when he steals your car.
