www.newegg.com is probably one of the best on-line stores there is... they have very good prices, large selection, fast & cheap Fed-X shipping, and most importantly, a very easy to use and fast return policy in case anything you get is defective.

This last bit is important when ordering on-line... a lot of stores might give you a deal, but try returning something that's messed up and you get all kinds of hassle... NewEgg is very easy to return stuff if you need to.

If there is a Fry's in your area I find them to have outstanding deals.

On Friday here in Houston they run a several page ad and there are some really great deals.

I usually look for the no rebate deals...A word of warning...If you do buy something that has a rebate you usually only have a few days to send in the rebate before it expires.

If you are intrested in online vendors I highly recommend newegg...They may not be the cheapest but their service is just outstanding.

I buy a bunch of stuff from Directron because I am here in Houston and can order the stuff online and go pick it up a couple of hours later.

I pay a little more but can get it quick...I just like being able to go and pick something up without have to order it and wait for it to be shipped...Even if it does cost me a couple of extra dollars.

Also compare www.chiefvalue.com. A lot of their items has free fedex shipping. I can vouch for Monarch too... I live on the Gulf Coast and their shipping was quick and their prices on processors sometimes beats NewEgg.

I purchased my AMD64 3200+ and my K8N Neo2 mobo from Monarch, while I bought my memory from NewEgg. I also shop at Fry's Electronics for some quickie stuff, since its close to me, but prices for alot of computer hardware (i.e. mobo, CPU, RAM, etc.) are somewhat higher there, as you have to "pay for the store" so to speak. I also use Pricewatch as you can generally find the lowest prices period on there, though you need to definitely check the company's rating before you buy something, as sometimes you may have no idea who the sellers are

Either one you choose, you'll probably get a good deal, though I wouldn't recomment any "serious" hardware from Fry's\Outpost, as you can DEFINITELY find a better deal from NewEgg, Monarch Computer, or Pricewatch. They're all great, so you really can't totally lose.

I always buy from newegg, or I look at the realtime engine here at anandtech.

Fry's is a great place to use as a demo supplier. They take back almost anything, no questions asked. It is also the reason why so much merchandise is marked with a "this product was returned" sticker. I buy very little there, because it is so hard to find boxes that have not been opened.
