Thats still piracy (I think?) and this thread will probably get locked.

Unless of course, its a multiliscence copy or whatever...

This is why I write my keys on the tops of the CDs. Last thing I want to do when I format is to go looking for 10 keys on manuals or whatever that I have no clue where they are. Put the cd in, install, open the drive, enter key, close drive, finish installing.

Check this MS Knowledge base article. It describes where the keys are kept.

Doh sorry. Don't know if this is correct or not but I did some sniffing around and it looks like there are some keys stored in

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\installer\components .

I cannot tell if the one I am looking at here is the one for my version of office since I am at work and do not know what key they are using. If I was home I could tell pretty quickly by matching to my key.

Probably as some stuff I have read on Dejanews since my last response seems to indicate there is no way to retrieve it from the registry. Supposedly you can call MS with your product ID and get it from them but I have no idea what hoops you will have to jump through. :(
