Where is your holiday (company) party going to be?

Not sure... but it'll probably be someplace that requires us to dress up and behave.

Xmas parties are about getting drunk, dancing, and having fun. 🙂

per my fiancee, "are you ok, bro?"

Oh no! You got her talking like a fucking idiot as well? Maybe you two losers were made for each other. As said before, be better at life and you won't be such an angry little man.

Merry Christmas!

Ugh, I have like 4 to attend. It's like a whole month of stupid dinners and parties.

I don't think we are having one this year. Not that I really care...I don't feel like paying $20 to stand around for 2 hours while our manager tries to pretend he gives a crap about any of us.

Dave and Busters IMHO is a happy hour place if you can bring your kids.

Not a holiday function if that is not the scene.

I like Dave and Busters. I stick to the bar area and the pool and adult games.

Never had kids during that time, but if I had to go back it would be pretty great.
Hmmm. Well I guess I'll find out. Honestly it sounds like fun to me but I'm pretty easy going anyway. I'll have to update this thread if I can remember to. 🙂

Bahahah! I am the angry one?

BTW a Mustang GT is still not a muscle car.

Why would you pay for your holiday party?

Mine will be at home I imagine.

The wife works for a pretty high end financial firm, I forget where she said it would be this year, but last year was pretty impressive.

The Breakers is an impressive spot, I knew someone booked the place for a week for both sides relatives for a week for a wedding, was quite the party I heard.

I forget where the wife even said hers was going to be.

Its ok to say "my wife". You legally own her by marriage so its not a faux paux to say it.

hopefully nothing I hate these things

also company as a whole does not do one AFAIK (too large)

departments and sub departments do them but they are generally smaller dinner/lunch type things

department head is having a thing at his house for cocktails and food but you cant bring your spouse and its on a day when im off for personal reasons

Some of us work for cheap bastards.

That's messed up. I can understand no "+1's", we were scheduled for that this year, but they changed it at the last min. Also our company cruise in April is going to be 4 days now instead of the typical 3 days. We can't bring guests, but all food and even alcoholic drinks are covered (we get a booze card 😉)

Paying for your own party is bullshit. I'd organize my own without management looking over our shoulders during it if that was the case.

Fortunately, we work hard and party hard at my company.

We had a party with 1000+ their guests, we just booked the entire Kravis Center.

When you work for a large publicly held company, there are no free hand outs.

All and any extra money goes to shareholders. There isn't room in the budget for "holiday party".

This is incorrect.

I work for a large publicly held company. I can agree that bonuses are definitely out of the question, but we get a very upscale Christmas Party every year.
