Where is the outrage over Biden's comments?

http://politicalticker.blogs.c...er-education-question/

"There's less than one percent of the population of Iowa that is African American. There is probably less than four of five percent that are minorities. What is in Washington? So look, it goes back to what you start off with, what you're dealing with."
"When you have children coming from dysfunctional homes, when you have children coming from homes where there's no books, where the mother from the time they're born doesn't talk to them ? as opposed to the mother in Iowa who's sitting out there and talks to them, the kid starts out with a 300 word larger vocabulary at age three. Half this education gap exists before the kid steps foot in the classroom," the Delaware Democrat added.

So where is the outrage? Obviously he's RACIST!!!on1!! right? No one here can honestly think that if this had been a "R" stating this that they wouldn't have been clubbed by the media and the race baiters. It's pretty damn disgusting double standard IMO.

However, just as I would if it was an "R" - his comments were likely innocent but at the same time a bit careless - just like the 7-11 comments a year ago.

There's a clear double standard -- and has been for some time.

As for Biden, the fact is, nobody cares what he has to say. He's as irrelevant as a Presidential Candidate could possibly be.

Who got flak for saying Obama was a clean, well-spoken candidate? Joe Biden.

The PC police (on the left and right) will eat people on either side. Bill Cosby gets a lot of crap too.

This is a subset of the fact that people hate themselves and ruin their lives because of it. If you tell them they take it as an insult because it makes them feel bad and they want to hurt you for their pain. If you don't tell them they will never see on their own, with extremely rare exception, and so they will continue to ruin their lives. Black people are f@cked in the same way we all are, but they have the additional problem of having been dumped on for hundreds of years and all the consequences of that.

He's just looking for reasons to be outraged.

This "racist" accusation is getting out of control. As was with the case with Rush, making an observation about race, sarcastic or otherwise, does not necessarily equal racism.

People on both sides of the political aisle need to figure that out.

You are such a racist. Wait, now I'm a racist too dammit!

It would seem to me that Biden is quite uncomfortable talking about blacks and other minorities. Doesn't mean he's racist, but it does mean he has personal issues with it. It's happened a few too many times to be within the normal realm of statistical slip-ups.

Maybe he's just falling in to the PC trap that so many politicians do.

It's hard to say anything when you have to worry about every word or portion of a sentence being taken out of context and/or misconstrued to cast you in a negative light.

Look at a few certain members here who routinely squawk "RACIST!" at just about anything...

I'll go ahead and agree with several people above me - there are serious problems that need to be addressed in the black community, but any attempt to do so is often met with accusations of racism.

Unfortunately, there is still enough racism in this country that it can be hard to tell who's saying what for which reason.

Uhh - no and no.

Biden doesn't have a chance. And I'm not outraged by his comments. This was posted because if it had been said by a "R" there would have been "outrage" by the race pimps(like you) but in this case there isn't. I wonder why that is? Hmmm....

When Republican presidential candidates attend a black organization hosted debate they can then begin to complain that they are unfairly accused of underinclusiveness. When they stop pushing for bans to gay marriage they can being to complain that they are unfairly portrayed as biggoted. When they stop advocating for the torturing of detainees and destruction of habeus corpus they can begin to complain that they are unfairly accused of stomping on the constitution. But those things haven't happened yet, so there is a well earned double standard when conservative and republicans talk about race, sexual orientation and civil rights.

Similarly I don't understand how any liberal who claims to be a devout follower of whatever religious sect they belong to can be pro-choice when all clergy tell them abortion is murder. So conservatives are right to call them on that hypocrisy. Double standards are sometimes earned.
