Where is the oil filter located on the 1997 Avalon?

So, today I volunteered to change my brother's Toyota 1997 Avalon. I purchased all the necessary parts for the oil change. I got the oil, the oil filter, and the oil filter wrench for his car.

I began to drain the old oil from the Avalon. And when I looked around trying to locate the oil filter on the Avalon, for the life of me I could not find where it was. I flipped through the users manual and did a quick search on google both didn't yield any good results.

Can someone help me locate where the oil filter is located on the 1997 Avalon? The car is 4 doors and have 6 cylinders.

Thanks.

Don't know, but probably same place where the Camry V6 oil filter would be. Since that's a more common car, maybe you should google that.

Open hood and look down in the front. Should be under the exhust manifold.

Thank you for the quick reply. I went and checked under the exhaust manifold and indeed it's there. The old oil filter had black rubber grip so it blended in with everything else in there.

Thanks again.
