Where is the Gigabyte GA-8PE667's CPU temp sensor located?

Hi guys,
Just wondering if the CPU temp sensor reads directly from the CPU diode(I think P4's have internal CPU diodes?) or does it rely on some external sensor beneath the CPU on the socket itself? The reason I'm wondering is because I'm getting pretty low temperatures for my CPU and I almost know that can't be the case...

Ok....I've got one, but I too cannot locate the sensor....didn't look too hard. What makes you think your readings are off? I put several different sensor probes in three separate places around the CPU and heatsink. The temps were within 1.8C of the temp reported by the SIV utility. I'm convinced the reading off the board sensor is remarkably accurate.

The PE667 gets the CPU-temp directly from the internal P4 diode. I've installed another sensor on the bottom of my Zallman Copper heatsink just near the P4 core and the temperature difference is about 9 degrees Celsius.
For example: If my P4 CPU reads 45 degrees, my heatsink sensor gets about 36 degrees.

I'm wondering because my CPU temps are something like 33C idle and at most 45C load. Is that normal for an intel P4 2.4B SL6EF C1 stepping clocked at 3.02GHz? Seems pretty low to me.

Chrasher you sure it gets the CPU temp from the P4 diode directly?
