I've got a "recovery CD" but I heard that the XP Home OS is actually stored on the HD somewhere in a hidden partition. Is this true? If so, how do I get to those OS files? I need the windows BU program that's stored on the Win XP Home CD that HP DIDN'T give me... Can I still get to that file or any other OS files that are on my HP computer?

You may need to use HP's programs to burn Recovery CD's with your system. I had to do this for a family member, it required six blank CD's. The program to do so (should this be how it works on your system) should be off one of the menus in the Programs list.

I hate Compaq and HP for that one reason. A least dell gives you a disk. And what about the stuff on the windows disk that's normally not installed in a stardard install. I want my disks!!!
