Except for extra features like NCQ that might be present on SATA2 drives, the SATA1 drives will perform exactly the same as the SATA2 drives unless the particular drives have updated mechanisms allowing for faster read and transfer speeds from the drives. Heck, SATA1 drives perform the same as Parallel ATA drives for that matter. I believe most IDE hard drives max out at about 60-70mb burst speed which is not anywhere close to the ATA-133 or SATA1 150mb speeds let alone SATA2 300mb rate. SATA2 for now is all marketecture. For it to be a truly useful upgrade, we're gonna need to see improvements on the hard drives itself.
