Where is paradise ???

After this semseter I will be graudating, and I want to take an unbelievable vacation. I want to go somewhere with just my girlfriend. I am probably going to have around $2000 to spend on the trip, on the plane tickets and hotel itself.

The place I want to go is basically what I would consider paradise. By Paradise I mean a place that is a georgeous beach, with beautiful islands and blue water. I want it to remind of the background in Windows 2000 and XP when you select 'paradise'. I want it to be a place that is like the places you see on those stupid fox shows where they take the people to a beautiful island. I konw this sounds weak ... but I want it to be like the place in the movie Triple X at the end when Vin Diesel is with his girl on that beach. That is the type of 'paradise' I am talkin about ... cause I realize paradise can mean alot of things to different people

I also want it to be a fun place with a good night life where we can have fun and party and drink and stuff. So do any of you guys have any places that are like this that you would recommend? And where to get the information on how to go there? Thanks!

Honestly though, city and country would help a lil more to narrow it down :)

I have looked up Belize as well, looks like a beautiful island. I still haven't figured out exactly where it is located though hehe.

You are thinking of Ibiza ... which is in spain :) and is the party capital of the world.

I respectfully disagee. If you want blue water and beautiful beaches you have to go Caribbean. Pacific is warm but not nearly as beautiful as the ciribbean.

 

Curacao (pronounced Kira Sau) is an island in the southern carribean. It's not too well-known and it's a Dutch west indies former colony. I've heard it's amazing. I'd love to go there, as the official language is Dutch (which I'm studying in school) but they speak English too.

What were those islands in that movie Six Days, Seven nights with that dude from Friends? French Macronesia? Those seem awfully nice.

You do have to remember, photographers can make any city look really nice. I bet they could make Houston look like paradise.

You should watch "Suite and Simple" on the Fine Living channel. They show an expensive trip and a cheap trip. One lady rented a villa on the beach in the Caribbean for ~$150 a week.

When is that on? I am not sure if my cable even has that channel, I have comcast

Also, anyone ever been to Tahiti? I was looking at some places and man they look nice! And possibly could fit my budget. Also, on these types of trips, about how much cash out of the pocket would you guys say I should expect to spend during the week, aside from hotel/plane ticket?
