Where is our Number 1 top PC Graphic whore game ;(

Some of us have super awesome GPU with Dual core/Quad core CPU running at 3.2Ghz + . But all of us don't have one game that can really show off our beasty system. Like come on... we are all getting excited about a game like lost planet which i played on my xbox 360 a year ago when the demo was released at the 1st day of e3 2006. Where is our game that totally beats up Mass effect. I look at games like Mass effect , Ratchet & Clank , Metal Gear solid 4 , Heavenly sword , white night , Stranglehold and i think where is my awesome pc game. Even Ninja Gaiden Sigma looks better than all the PC title coming in the next few month

I only hope Bioshock doesn't get delayed

Most of those console games are not out yet and they use a lot of low rez pre-render in the trailers... the actual game will not look that good.

2nd... GoW is not that great looking in the opinions of many gamers. It looks very nice in 720 on a nice HD TV, I grant you... but it is 720. GoW would run about 10 fps at 1080p.

3rd... little or no effort on your part is required to check up on the progress of Crysis, Bioshock, and many other DX10 games.

I have seen video of gameplay for all of them except for MGS4. Also when is it coming ? ... all the game i have listed are suppose to be out Q3 to Q4 2007.

Company of heroes , CNC 3 are not ground breaking. Stalker came out too late but it still looks good but some area it looks outdated and other it doesn't. The game was suppose to be out by 2005.

Where is Crysis ?

i think they should release Crysis right now ... in an Alpha state for $60 and then take the next year to patch it
--that way you get to have your pretty graphics and *lots of bugs* to make even more angry new threads about it in Video and Software


Oblivion will still give your rig a workout ... especially with the texture packs ... DX10 games are next year ... you knew that .... and i also understand that GoW and many of the "pretty" new console games are short and mediocre.

BEST of all ... for me ... *i* can take my time and skip that beastly power-HOG of a GPU i had my heart originally set on since the current games run fine on x1900
--the SAD thing is that you will also need to upgrade then too ... since you are a "perfectionist" and the new DX10 games will really challenge your current rig.
.. at least there are a lot of new pretty demos for you to play with while you wait .. and wait.

IMO Oblivion with texture mods and some AA and AF looks better than GoW

GoW has too many jaggies. No AA FTL

maybe you should put your glasses on ... last i looked GoW had lots of 'jaggies' ... How much AA does your console provide for it?

and perhaps you should try some of the "texture packs" that are available as user created plugins for DL ... they make Oblivion look a LOT better and will even slow down your somewhat buggy OS a bit ... Vista, right? What GPU are you running now and 2 or 4GB of system RAM?

FINALLY .. since you seem to be running out of good games to play [BtW, how "good" was GoW ... say compared to STALKER or FC?] try playing some of your old games, including user created expansions [also for Oblivion high-level players]

Gothic3 has 'matured' ... at least the performance seems to be fixed [except for the "seamlesss" transitions] and it looks like several expansions are coming shortly for NWN2 ... a few RPGs are coming and i guess Starcraft2 isn't far off ... nor are Unreal3 games far off

so in the meantime ... play your warmed-over Ninja Gaiden ... at least you don't have to buy another console ...
we are in the "in between" period for PC gamnes ... when devs have pretty much left off innovating for DX9 and are working on brand new "full" DX10 titles ... another year and you will be looking to UPGRADE your current HW ...

I played through GoW three times. Twice in single player and once in Coop mode and the third time was still infinitely more fun than what I have experienced in STALKER.

GoW never left my Xbox360 for three months. Best $60 I ever spent.

How's the multiplayer in STALKER BTW?

and i probably would *hate* STALKER also if i couldn't get it to run right and it chugged along looking awful

... mine runs great at 30+ FPS and doesn't even need AA .. plus it is a pretty good game over all ... i know there are expansions and user mods being made for it

Where is Crysis ?

If you bought your system with the intention of using it for future games only, then you should have waited for the future to buy your super system. And on the contrary about games that can't tax high end systems. Have you tried STALKER? Crank that puppy up as high as it will go, and watch the frames tumble on down. I mean, weren't you getting tired of graphics cards that could play at max settings, but only net about 20 to 40 fps? Now that we have cards that can slaughter games, you complain about either the cards being too fast, or you want games to come out to bring our cards to their knees all over again. Example: My 7900GT on a P4 3.8 and 19" CRT was fine at the resolutions and settings I played. I had to play with the settings to get it acceptable for playability. Still looked good, but JUST above unplayable for some titles. I was tired of having to turn things down.

Enter 8800GTS on a C2D E6420 and a 22" LCD. And I can crank the hell out of everything I play at 1680x1050. And I mean CRANKED! to the point where there is nothing left to turn up or on. Keysplayr <-------- happy camper!

I bought the GTS for todays games. When crysis hits, I will add either a second GTS, or go with a single 8900GTX. Whatever offers more bang for buck when that time comes.

When components are too fast, people complain. When software is too harsh on the components, people complain. The grass is always greener for some, it would seem.

Just enjoy your hardware while it lasts. Don't worry, it will soon be brought to it's knees, then you can complain that your hardware can't run it and you spent all this money.

R6:V uses deferred shading, so I have to assume the DX10 version of the engine will as well.

I can play GoW in 1080p all day.
