I was reading a thread of his from a few months ago where he got a 1 month ban for pretty much saying what everyone suspected: that there are often two standards when it comes to how posters here are treated-- one for (some of the) mods and their friends, and another for everyone else. In a fashion very atypical for Nik, he was actually quite polite and non-argumentative when he was making his point.

Maybe he never came back from his ban? Even though he was martyred for his cause, I can't really say he'll be missed.

I don't think his (old) account was affected by the random New Year's post count reset bug.
