where is boot.ini??

ok, i have a dual bootup up win2k and win98se. anyways, on past installs i have been able to locate the boot.ini file. however, right now i can't locate it. i have done a search for boot.ini, but i can't find it. anyone konw where it is stored? (i checked the normal c:/ directory, but to no avail). any help is appreciated. thanks!

it DEFINITELY is in the root directory . (c🙂...chances are , you can't see it cause it's a hidden file. go to the view properties and select show hidden so that you can see it.

well, i have win2k installed on c:/ and i have win98se on f:/

would that make a difference? and no, i can't see the file. and i have it set to show all files. i did that before i posted here 😉

Which OS did you install first? I would check the drive of that OS. If you want to edit the Boot.ini file, you may have to change its Properties. Right-click on it and take off "Read Only" if it's checked.
