Ok, I'm a total n00b concerning the game of "golf". I'm trying to find and purchase a set as one of the prizes for my raffle I'm conducting on my website. Now, what is a good set that people use and where do you recommend purchasing it.

By the way, I'm located in So-Cal I'm willing to drive to pick them up if necessary.

Thank you,

Ethan

Give gramps a deadleg in the Country Club parking lot and have a running car ready.

Speaking of old people, try estate sales.

Damn....that was cold.:Q

Do you have Play It Again Sports stores near you? Those are a pretty good source. You may want to consult the yellow pages as well. If you're near a big city you may have some shops specializing in used clubs (we have a few here in Atlanta). Golfers are like computer geeks in that they constantly upgrade their stuff....hence, there's a good supply of used clubs available.

Also: do yourself and your sanity a favor and start out by taking a bunch of lessons. Get good habits and form established right off the bat and you'll enjoy the game a lot more in the long run.:)

Depends on what you're after, I suppose. They'll tag you for a Ti driver, but my Lynx irons were reasonably priced (about $300 new and I paid $120 at PIAS).

Hmm, not sure about Lynx, but I got a set of Knight clubs from Sams for Christmas, I love them.
