Where is a good place to buy a replacement LCD panel from?

I have a user with a Sony Vaio TZ150N that dropped it over the weekend resulting in a cracked screen. There are about 100 different online stores that sell replacements, my guess is half of them are scams.

Suggestions? I'm sure I could buy it from Sony but I'm guessing they're extremely pricey...

"half of them are scams"... Really?
Why would you come to that conclusion?
Have you bought lots of LCD panels before, and got burned?

i haven't replaced an LCD screen. i assume there's some dis-assembly required.

if it's "just a piece of glass", a glass shop. if it's polycarbonate or similar, a plastic shop, like
Tap plastics, or Ridout Plastics in San Diego.

or ... a trip to the local computer recycling center to buy a dead laptop that has a screen within
1/8" length & width, dis-assemble, extract screen, etc.

or are you replacing the entire LCD assembly ?

No, because they're sold by shady looking sellers that I'm not willing to give up my CC to - websites that are .biz or .info.

Sorry but I'm really not wanting to deal with my CC getting stolen.

Well, if they accept PP you don't have to give them your CC info.

But honestly your best bet is probably eBay, either look for replacement for the screen or a dead laptop with a good screen. Just make sure the seller guarantees a working screen and you should be gtg.
