Well, I can use the router table and freehand the edge of the ellipse, but that woun't give me as nearly a perfect figure as I would have.

Must be around here somewhere.
 
Sorry, Winston, but I needed them for an aluminum project I was working on. Unfortunately, they didn't "cut" it. 🙁 You can have them back but I don't think they will do you muc good. 😛

Meh, oh well. I may need a longer bit than I had for the router table anyway. I wound up cutting out the ellipse with a jig saw. Unfortunately that left an edge which was not square. A band saw or jig saw would have made it a piece of cake, but you can't use what you don't have.

Tack glued a luan template on the bottom, and with a bearing guided bit, I will be able to even out the edge. Once that's done, I'll use a bearing guided round over bit which should finish the job 😀
