Niagra's a cool joint, Riffifi on Friday (the trash party), the darkroom is loads of fun. The good thing about LES bars is that some are CHEAP. Start off with the continental on st. marks - EVERY drink (including top shelf) is $2.50 during happy hour, $3.50 afterwards (all night) and shots are 5 for $10. Not a happening place but a fun and cheap start. I also like the blue and gold as a casual joint to start the night. Midway's another nice lower east side bar.. The thirsty scholar is nice just because it has a small town bar feel and they call everyone by their first nameS. not trendy but fun. Trash on friday - check out indierotica.com for details. Lit has a party on Thursdays, spun by Jess from Trash...Who's a douchebag but tell him that Jenny from Texas says hi if you'd like to seem like the man for knowing the dj.

Into more of the average bimbette (blonde, ditzy, boring to me)? Meat packing district. Bed is a fun club.. All of the clubs in this area are expensive so I don't spend much time there. Avoid uptown bars - mostly frat boys and .. bleh.. Midtown is to be avoided as well. If you like college girls you can go with Down the Hatch, Off the Wagon, or The Town Tavern. Speaking of the town tavern - wednesday deal: $5 cover gets you $1 pitchers of beer!

Nope - they got rid of the stage and just became a dive bar. I was there on friday - good, cheap fun. But they're very strict - i've been booted out three times so far and the bouncer swiped a friend's credit card from her wallet once to trap her using a fake id by matching the names...

Oh, Central Bar - 9th between 3rd and 4th ave (I think). Never bring a date there, the guys are rabid... But there are often cute and, if you get there late, drunk girls there. Lots of them, upper level dance floor. Bathroom is to the left of the bar - unmarked door. Took me forever to find it. I'm not a big fan of the place but it's a happening joint on a friday.

The Library (Houston and .. bleh.. look it up) was voted as a great pick up point by city search but these are the girls who are into artists and homosexual men, so it's a "meet a girl" bar, not a "meet a slut" bar.

As a native new yorker, I'll just say that, yes, the 1/9/2/3 uptown past columbia (116th) is kinda scary at 3 or 4 am. . TAKE A CAB... Or take a train to midtown and then take a cab. You're not going to get stabbed/mugged/raped but being drunk in a shady part of town is kinda scary.

As a native new yorker, I'll just say that, yes, the 1/9/2/3 uptown past columbia (116th) is kinda scary at 3 or 4 am. . TAKE A CAB... Or take a train to midtown and then take a cab. You're not going to get stabbed/mugged/raped but being drunk in a shady part of town is kinda scary.

Anything east of morningside park is sketchy, no matter what time of day. And if there's shady people around, you most definitely get mugged if you're alone up there early morning. Just watch local news, it happens every weekend.
