If someone hits on someone else but doesn't stop unless someone intervenes, will it be first degree assault or attempted murder?

There was a fight at my sister's high school where 4 thugs jumped a student and beat him merciless and is now in a coma at the hospital. Obviously, it's a fact that students don't stop fights, until school officials/cops intervened.

Are they juveniles? In Seattle some kids killed the tuba man by beating him to death, they got a few weeks in jail.

Yes, but I live in FL. We charge teens as young as 12 as adults if they commit manslaughter or murder one. The kid isn't dead, his entire face is just broken and is in a coma since Thursday.

Attempted murder is acting deliberately and intentionally or recklessly with extreme disregard for human life. Aggravated assault/battery is causing severe injury to another or causing injury through use of a deadly weapon.

In practice, a lot of it comes down to the circumstances surrounding the premeditation of the crime. I would think there is little premeditation involved in a fight, but obviously that can change again with the circumstances.

BTW, charging anyone younger than 18 as an adult is straight up bullshit. None of the rights, all of the responsibilities? Clearly, if in the eyes of the court a 12 year old can be charged as an adult, then he can go have a cigarette to?
