  • The British and US ambassadors plan to demand that Hans Blix reveals more details of a huge undeclared Iraqi unmanned aircraft, the discovery of which he failed to mention in his oral report to Security Council foreign ministers on Friday. Its existence was only disclosed in a declassified 173-page document circulated by the inspectors at the end of the meeting ? an apparent attempt by Dr Blix to hide the revelation to avoid triggering a war.

Blix should've tried to remain as objective as posssible.
 
What info did he hold back or hide?
It says in that very article that it was disclosed in a document released by the inspectors.
 
yeah but the media only talks about what he says because they don't want to read 173 pages to figure it out, they assume he is objective because that's his job
 
Maybe it's parked next to the sites we know about but refuse to share with Blix in order to prevent inspection.

Face it. They ought to get Blix' useless ass out of there. Hell, he's beyond useless, now he's trying to hide sh|t. Really slick. So glad we decided to take the UN route several months ago!

There probably are a few missiles to go along with it. Unless of course you think every one of those unmanned vehicles is another kamikaze building-crasher, which would also work, effectively turning the aircraft into a missile itself.

It's for reasons like these (information withheld from policy-makers and the public at large) that I usually don't make these huge political demonstrations. I know I don't have enough information either to support going to war or to support the decision to refrain. I just have to trust the decision-makers to get this information and to act on it.

It wasn't hard to figure out, that once the prick got nominated for the nobel peace prize, that he wasn't going to put a serious effort in to finding the weapons. Not that he was really looking anyway. :disgust:

The drones are definitely scarey, especially for the uninformed. They could wreak some havok in extremely small areas under perfect conditions, but they are more important for the fact that they exist. Why would he have them if he didn't have anything to use them for.

Iraq called on the UN today to lift sanctions across the board because, they say, the inspector's (Blix) report proved that they have disarmed their WMD's.

They have drones designed to disseminate WMD's, but they don't have any WMD's.

Maybe Saddam and his buddies decided to get into the RC airplane hobby in a big way. Yeah, that's it. It's just a hobby, just like you or me putting together a plastic model airplane.

I will sleep well tonight knowing that Saddam has taken up a harmless hobby.

First, I never said it was not real. Is it relevent in terms of a real threat. No.

Should it be there? No.

Do I believe Saddam has banned weapons? Yep I do. Should he? No.

Does that mean I believe that significant enough to go into a war? No.



Every nation does things that are illegal and morally wrong. If you object, look into US interventions into South America. Let me tell you boys, things have gone on there that would make you puke, and all of them contraviened by international law. Now so what? Exactly. I have been around the barn, as they say, enough to know things are not nice. Things are done and thats that. Saddam wants his country and to persecute his people. I hate that, but is that enough for direct military involvement on the part of the US? Not IMO. He has WMD's? Well hells bells. That did not bother Rumsfeld a number of years ago. In a recent BBC interview, he admitted that the US new that Iraq had chemical weapons when we supported Saddam in a war against Iran. Oh it was ok, because Rumsfeld did not arrange the sale of them to Saddam. He knew exactly what Saddam was (yes he did) and was ok with him having weapons and using them, which happened during the Iran/Iraq conflict. Hunky dorey with us. Well a new tune. Saddam is dangerous because he has them now. What changed? He attacked a nation we did not want him to. He also is a great scapegoat on which to blame all the ills of the the world as far as terrorism. The ultimate straw man. And people buy it. I have come to the conclusion that people have to have someone to hate when fear overtakes their senses, and Saddam is the man of the hour for that.

Again Saddam should not have these "toys". Blix should not have hidden the facts. Franks should not be hiding things from Blix and people should take a cold shower before starting a war. HappyPuppy is one of the few who has a clue of what a war is. Almost no one else does. It cannot be explained. You have to live through the times. We have not since Vietnam. The Gulf War wasnt. It was a shooting gallery in open territory for the most part. When HP and others disagree with me, I take note. That does not mean I agree with them, but I respect them because they have lived it. Most of you who want this want something you do not understand.
 
So how easy is it to knock one of those down with one of those
thousands of surface to air that the CIA left in Afghanistan??
