Original Star Trek :( Sad to know the new generations won't know so many old catch phrases.

Supposedly he never actually said those exact words.

The trekkie geeks care more than anyone else.

Um.. Kirk and others said this line at least 50 times over the course of the series and movies....

IIRC, it was said more than once.

Ummmmm. Schattner, Doohan, and the other cast members emphatically deny that line was ever spoken on the series.........and they have all challenged anyone to find an instance of Kirk speaking that particular line in any episode of the series.

This line has become another urban legend......or Trekkie legend without substance.

Or most likely just like the "Play it again Sam" line that was never actually said in Casablanca. It is just a generic phrase that people use rather than repeat the actual dialogue verbatim.

Believe it or not it WAS said... just not on Star Trek itself. There was an episode of Mork where they were watching an episode of Star Trek on tv, without the viewer seeing the screen, as is normal on most network tv series. They hired William Shatner to say a line or two, and it was there that the much referred to "Beam me up Scotty" was actually said.

Engineer, Mr. Scott:
Ye cannot change the laws of physics, laws of physics, laws of physics;
ye cannot cahnge the laws of physics, laws of physics, Jim.

Ah! We come in peace, shoot to kill, shoot to kill, shoot to kill;
we come in peace, shoot to kill; Scotty, beam me up!

It's worse than that, he's dead, Jim, dead, Jim, dead, Jim;
it's worse than that, he's dead, Jim, dead, Jim, dead.

Well, it's life, Jim, but not as we know it, not as we know it, not as we know it;
it's life, Jim, but not as we know it, not as we know it, Captain.

There's Klingons on the starboard bow, starboard bow, starboard bow;
there's Klingons on the starboard bow, better calm down!

Ye cannot change the script Jim.
Och, #!*& Jimmy.

It's worse than that, it's physics, Jim.

Bridge to engine room, warp factor 9.

Och, if I give it any more she'll blow, Cap'n!
