Just reread the first post...

Anyone had a bad experience with googlegear?

You will ALWAYS be able to find SOMEONE with a bad experience. That doesn't mean you shouldn't deal with them.

Both newegg and googlegear have very high sustained ratings. I would say they are probably the two most used on-line sites by the AT community with newegg being the clear leader.

Having recently moved to Cali, I no longer use any in-state sites due to extra charges but, NewEgg would still be my best bet for hot ticket items.

Newegg is my favorite, because I've ordered from them three times already, and have been satisfied every time. Googlegear doesn't seem to have as wide of a selection as Newegg in some areas (the scanner dept. is what I've noticed this in most recently). Mwave has a wider selection, but their site is harder to use (for me, but maybe I'm just retarded).

I was just going to order everything from Newegg...but something stopped me and I checked prices at Googlegear. Most prices were higher, BEFORE SHIPPING. Now on many things, Newegg doesn't charge shipping, but in my case, several things had some shipping charges...Win XP Home OEM and others...so with shipping, Newegg came out higher on about half the stuff. I bought that stuff from Googlegear...saved about 15 bux...not much, but it's 15 bux. I love both of these stores...

I read about newegg for the longest time but was always reluctant to buy online. I placed my order earlier this month and chose 2 day shipping. What do you know but 2 days later everything came and works perfectly.

I used to mainly deal with Newegg...but than I checked out googlegear and saw that a lot of their prices beat Newegg's and most had free 2nd day shipping...I'm on the other side of the country from CA, so the shipping days matter most of the time. However, I have called Newegg before for faster shiping and they did not charge me extra for next day...

Both are great companies.

What he said. I have not had a problem with newegg ever. If I did it was resolved quickly. Shipping is excellent and fast too.

yeah looks like you got good answers...but whatever you do stay away from BuyXtremegear.com had problems with them on several occasions, and friends had problems as well....problems like not canceling orders....wrong price, terrible customer support, all sorts of stuff
