Where do you put your sunglasses when you aren't wearing them, but are out?

Long subject....

When you are out but go inside(store/restaurant etc..) where do you put your sunglasses?

For many years now I've just been putting/hanging them on the back of my collar. Picture this as being the reverse of hanging them on your collar under your chin.

My thoughts on this if you have them hanging on the front, and bend over they fall off and get scratched/broken.

Same if you put them on top of your head like some people do, easy to fall off.

Put them in your pocket, they can get sat on and crushed/broken.

Hanging on the back collar would require me doing a handstand for them to fall off, and that's not going happen so that's why I've been putting them there.

My reason for bringing this up, is I've had a lot of people, usually people I don't know say, "You know you have your glasses on your back?", and "Yes, thank you I do know" is my response, all the time thinking to myself, "OMG I've been looking for those for weeks now"!

Today I had a clerk in a store run down the aisle at a Staples to talk to me about my sunglasses placement and one of his questions was about where I thought I might have seen that in a movie before?? We spoke for a few minutes and thought there might be a 80's movie that had someone doing that, he thought Sixteen Candles, but I don't remember anyone doing that in that movie.

We chatted a few more minutes and I exited the store thinking that was an odd conversation....

Guys who put their glasses on their back are the same ones who wear popped collars around.

are you saying the OP looks like this:

Yeah, hanging them on the back of your collar? That's kinda lame. I leave mine in the car. Or hang them from the front of my collar. I've never had them fall off in the front. Even if they did, they're not nice enough for me to care that they got scratched.

I leave them in the car if I know I'm going into a store or restaurant, or I'll ask a friend to put them in her purse.

Front pockets don't work if you sit down, and no flipped collars for me LOL....or pink shirts for that matter.

Also I'm not talking about the Guy Fieri style of wearing them on the back of your head.

Leaving them in the car doesn't work, I hate squinting 🙂 and I'm too old to pass for Corey Hart(the Sunglasses at Night guy) so wearing inside seems not the thing to do.

Top of the head. Looks "cool", and very easy to put back on. If it starts raining, I put them in my case if I'm carrying it with me in my man purse.

Pocket, Head or collar.

Wasn't there an old thread about this with pics. Consensus was those that wear them on the back of their head/neck were douchebags.

Hang from collar.
If sitting either on table or in pocket.

For t-shirts, this puts it too close to my chin, ends up smudging the lens.

For dress-shirts, kinda works, but easy to drop. My Maui Jims are 3 years old now, and are in pristine condition except for one scratch. Got this scratch when I hung it on my closed trench coat "collar", and it fell onto concrete. Been on the top of my head since.

They stay in a case in the car.
I gave up color changers a long time ago. Too expensive and they dont work well enough for me.

i just wear them until its dark outside. i wear them while shopping, running errands and everything. only time i take them off is when i get home, work or sit down to eat. and half the time ill eat with them on. they take a beating for the most part, have a few war scars on them as it is.
