so when you guys are looking for a job, where do you look? i have a resume up on monster and i browse through it every now and then but there's never anything there for my area. its all accounting or sales jobs.

Chances of getting a job on Monster are 1 in 100. You gotta be assertive and send resumes to the places you want to work.

If a company is worth it's salt... they don't need to resort to Monster to find people.

say all of your education was in IT and you wanted a new job, not necessarily dealing with IT (hell, i'm about sick of IT and wouldn't mind doing something totally different), what would you do?

Dude, post it up on Dice.com, Monster.com, and Hotjobs.com

I updated my resume ealier this week and I already had 3 recruiters calling me and been on one interview.

The caveat to posting your resume on the job boards is keeping it updated, even if that means just logging in and resaving it. Most recruiters will only look at the new ones, so don't let it slip. When looking for work I usually ask friends and contacts and so forth. Usually you'll find someone that works for a company that's hiring. If I'm actively searching, I usually just stick to craigslist.
