Ohio; my water comes from a hole in the ground and is run off from the strip mines. It's full of iron and sulfur compounds, and will stain anything you put in it bright orange. It's not very good.
Central Washington and I'm on well water. It's honestly the best water I've ever tasted. I don't drink water much but the city water here tastse like poo and it's better than the bottled water I've had.
NYC suburbs, water tastes disgusting and is supposedly pretty bad for you. Ironically, the city gets its water from where I am, or a bit north, and it's pretty good. I use a Pur faucet filter and that makes it drinkable.
are you kidding? i was there last april and the stuff that came out of the faucet at the hotel (harrahs) was better then anything else i've ever had out of a tap near where i live.
back on topic, my water is crap, it always seems to have a brown tinge to it, the calcium levels are way the hell over state guidelines, the distribribution system is falling apart, and to top it off every few years theres a lead scare.
billerica massachusets,
Source: Concord river.
the upshot its that we just had our first water rate increase since may of 1980 and its still cheeper than any of the surronding communities, we've never had a drought, to my knowledge we've never had a water ban.
North East PA, water is heavily chlorinated from local resevoirs. It's fine for drinking through PUR or Brita, but not straight from the tap. Where I grew up, water was great though.
MD, well water system, out water is very hard and acidic, it eats away at the pipes, showerheads, and everything. The water is fine to drink but it taste funny because it's so hard, and has iron content.
Coral Springs, FL. The water isn't that great (smells funny) but we have a filtration system and it makes it delicious. When I lived in NY the water was better, I think.. that was almost 10 years ago and I was a little kid, but my parents liked the water there better.
