I'm looking for the best online site to rent games from, that get mailed to your house pretty fast. I don't care about the movie selection, just games. Where do you all rent yours from?

gamefly is most popular, here are some older threads to read (I found them using the search box with "gamefly").

It's also a popular place to buy used games since they come with playable discs, clean cases and instruction booklets.

I don't rent games, I just buy them. Renting would be cheaper but it takes me forever to beat games so I'd never beat anything.

Gamefly was great for when I had it. I canceled it though because I couldn't justify the cost compared to how much time was available for me to play. If you can complete games/exchange pretty quickly, it is worth it. Otherwise, you're better off buying them at a discount/used if you take a while to complete a game.

I signed up for gamefly last month and the turnaround time is horrible. Here is how it went

June 9 - Signed up
June 10 - Game shipped
June 16 - game recieved
June 23 - game sent back
June 30 - game received by gamefly

now waiting for them to send me the next game which most probably i'll receive on monday july7.
So i was able to rent and play just 1 game for the whole month.

Needless to say, i am going to cancel my subscription.

I just go to Blockbuster. They never used to have games in stock, but they changed all their locations around here to carry a larger stock of new games.

Local video store, I think it is called Movie Gallery. When games that lack a modding community for user made content become around 8 hours long and cost $60 without great multiplayer, I stop buying them and start renting them.

This is what I do know along with MyCokeRewards to get free game rental coupons.

The rental price at my local blockbuster though is outrageous... I don't remember the exact cost is last time I tried but it was way more than I was willing to pay for a rental. There is a mom and pop movie rental place by me though that is only $4 for a 5 night rental, which is pretty good if I know I have a few nights with a lot of time to play and i'm in the mood for a new game 🙂

Blockbuster has a better selection though....

I also had Gamefly for the past 2 months and cancelled but it wasn't because of the turnaround time. I cancelled because almost all of the newer games had low availability. I realize newer games are more popular but what's the point of subscribing if it's near impossible to get a game I want? I tried the trick with limiting my queue to the 2 games I wanted right away, but that didn't work.

I'm in los angeles and I've never had a problem with turnaround time with gamefly. Something is usually in the mail for a day, maybe 2 at the most but certainly if i send a game in on monday, i'll have my next game before the middle of the week, thursday at the latest. I haven't run into any issues with availability, but then again I haven't tried to rent any new releases either.

My main problem is that i take too long to finish games, so we end up with games just sitting around the house. Right now nobody is playing the assassins creed that we rented because I'm too busy playing mario kart with my girl and my mom is still into GTA4 online and the other game we have, paper mario.. well we never have time for that one. We get good use out of the DS games we get though.
