tires online are a good 20-30% cheaper than b&m but the problem is mounting and balancing which could cost an extra $20 per tire.

is there a good b&m that has tires for cheap that does free mount/balance with purchase?

if not, is there a good b&m that does mount/balance for cheap?

They used to, but the costco's around me in ca have done that for about 4 years. Which is really too bad; it was a great way to buy tires. 🙁

I go to hogan tire.

If you are not too pickey, then go to costco.

costco mounts and balances tires even if not bought from them?

only if you buy it there.

You can try to price match with Town Fair Tire (or some other chain). Problem is that they will factor in the shipping....and Town Fair Tire can be shady at times. When I tried to price match my last set, they matched the price, but mounting it was no longer free. When I did it years ago, mounting it was free even if you proce matched. It may vary location to location. Also, when you price match, some places will charge more for the mounting.

sigh... costco mostly carries michelins which i don't particularly care for.

I buy from tire rack, ship them to my house, then take the old wheels and new tires (off the car) to a (non chain) local place to get them mounted and balanced.

Sadly, Costco does not have the selection I want, nor will they sell non OEM sizes to me...

how much do they charge u?
what size are your tires?

I've actually had a decent experience at my local NTB.

They don't say anything when I wander into the shop, and mechanics that are working on my stuff have always been happy to talk with me while they work.

I've been in there once for tires, once for alignment and balancing (put new balljoints in), and once more for just an alignment (replaced the new upper balljoints with better parts).

that's not bad at all.
i'm guessing stock is 215/50/17?

Yeah, the TSX has strange 215/50/17 size tires. When those wore out I changed to 225/45/17 for a wider selection of tires.

The SRT-4 has 205/50/17 on the stock wheels, but I have a set of slightly wider tires for the track which I use 225/45/17s on.

The shop charges me the same for the 205/50s and the 225/45s.
