I get mine from thinkgeek.

Edit, I actually read the OP, and found out my post is not relevant. At any rate, I don't own any plain shirts. Lacking a delete button, my post stands.

Folks are not talking apples and oranges here.

Hanes Tagless are 5 oz carded cotton

A better shirt is:
Hanes Beefy Ts are 6 oz ringspun cotton

And, some of the more expensive shirts, LandsEnd, CK, Alternative Apparel, American Apparal, etc? are combed cotton, which is much more expensive, and much stronger, and much softer.

Men's Crewneck Undershirt (3-pack) $19.50

Why would you spend that much on undershirts?

ive heard unanimous great things about LandsEnd (also LL Bean, Brooks Bros, other conservative east coast clothiers, etc... check out fatwallet reviews)

incredible service, great return policy, and, most of all, real quality to the clothing.

if it costs 2x as much, but last 3x as long (and looks better in the mean time), why not? i have tons of "short-term" clothing that i dont wear anymore because they either pill or fade or wrinkle, etc, or just dont fit that well and its too late to return them

living in the south, i never knew about them, but im gonna start webshopping there exclusively

I just get the Hanes tagless ones from Walmart. They feel fine to me and they're so damn cheap I just buy new ones every few months as I wear them daily. The side benefit is I always have rags for car work, gun cleaning, etc.

I usually get the nordstorms ones. They seem to fit better than the others. I actually need to get some more.

I've had Hanes before and those are some cheap pieces of crap. So are fruit of the loom.

I also have big shoulders and those hanes ones have really tiny sleeves, and even with XL they shrink and don't fit correctly after the first wash.

With undershirts I've definitely learned that you get what you pay for. I would gladly pay $20 for a 3pack of shirts of a good brand than $10 for a 3 pack of some cheapo brand.

EDIT:

also I don't wear them as undershirts. I always wear a-shirts for my undershirts, never t-shirts. I will wear the t-shirts when I am just hanging out or chilling.

i buy the dockers brand now. the main reason I switched from the FTL and Hanes cheap ones is because in a short amount of time the collars would get loose and start sagging.

BJs/Costco store brands are really quite good.

I like urban outfitters for ironic, "cool" shirts, but they're quite expensive.

...Don't tell anyone, but Winners and kids section. Only "man" t-shirts that fit me in small/extra small form are from H&M and sometimes they looks too retarded. First time something was ever too small: damn shrinkage.

We get tons of apparel for our business, so I get blank materials wholesale. I don't think I'll have to shop in a store again for my clothes! (I still do, btw)...whenever we make shirts for someone, if it's a cool design or something, I'll make a couple extras for me!

As far as where I get my regular shirts, every shirt I wear is swag I pick up somewhere. AMD, ATI, ABIT, ABS, Creative, etc. I only have two shirts that I bought, a Halo2 shirt and a Geek shirt that i got from Microsoft. Anything else I wear, like dress clothes were typically given to me as gifts from family.

for some reason, your post just made me
