Where do you get your CD-Rs when there are no deals going on?

Just wondering. I need some good 80min 40x CD-Rs, but there are no deals going on that I know of. So during these off-peak times, where do you people buy your CD-Rs from?

Thanks!

Errr.... somewhere that is doing deals 😕

CD-R's are always very cheap so just search for the cheapest ones.

Quality isnt a matter IMO. Personally to me, a CDR is a CDR.

I just stock up when theres a sale so I dont have to worry about it afterward.

I still have like five 100pc spindle that I got for free AR to $5 AR.

Actually that's not true about the quality of a CD-R. The dye has a shelf-life, and crappy quality CD-Rs will not last as long as major brands like Imation, Memorex, etc.

Ah, they're all good enough for me. If you keep em in a case or something protective and not lying out on the desk, it'll be fine. I've been using CD burners since the days of the first 2x drives from HP. I would reccomend just checking the Hot Deals forum otherwise call up Best Buy, CC, OD, OM, Staples, etc. a nd ask them if they are running any deals. I'm sure one of those stores is running a deal.

Well, I usually stock up every time there are good deals to be had on what I consider are decent quality CD's. I can usually get sony, fuji (my favoritie) or memorex for less than $5 per 50 after mail in rebate. I swear I will never pay more than 10 cents per CD. And I usually have at least 300 laying around. (more like 500 at present, so I resisted the latest Fuji 50 pack for $2.99 after rebate at Bestbuy). I believe Staples still has the 50 pack of Sony's for $2.94 after rebate. Check here for link.

i have about 200 here from me stocking up..

if u are really hard up for cd-r's, just get what is the cheapest now, and when there is adeal, then hook yourself up!

plus, there should be deals every sunday int eh paper...cdr's are so cheap nowadays!

tell that to the people who bought cheapie CD-r's in their car stereo. Where it is EXTREMELY hot from pushing wattage. The top of the CD-r (the reflective part) can flake off, warp, "fold up" or bend upwards, like flecking paint.

AFAIK, the best CD-r's (also the inventors of CD-R technology) is Taiyo Yuden. They can withstand the heat and resist flecking, etc.

a cd-r is just a cd-r, if you just use it for data storage, but if you plan on using them daily and in extreme conditions, Taiyo Yuden is the way to go.

I just buy them at Walmart. I've probably burned 10 CDs in the last year, so it's no deal. What are you guys burning that you need so many?

For me it is backing up my Fansubs that I'm not keeping on the HDD at any current time.

As for CDs these days there is ALWAYS a sale. I'm going to go buy those Sonys and the quality doesn't matter to me. I just finished a pack of those 40x At&T cdrs and they are fine. Hell 4 years ago when I had my 2x Acer I used some cheap Staples meda (it wasn't staples brand...it was pure gerneic) and they work fine

I check the adds in the sunday newspaper every week. There is pretty much always a deal on CD-Rs somewhere.
I get them either for free or up to 6 cents apiece ($3.00 per 50 pack spindle AR).

Got two full 50-pack spindles sitting here right now for posterity🙂

i'm with the rest as long as it is for data. However, if you burn audio cds IMHO lower quality disks don't play in older cd players. I go with better quality for audio.

However, for data i think sams is the best place to look when there is no sale on anywhere else.
