Where do you get your CD-Rs from?

I get mine from www.cdrecordable.com and I LOVE it. They have excellent customer service, and they sell Tru-Silver CD-Rs (100 for $54). The cool part is, they manufacture their own discs--these are not imports from other countries. Nice.

Where do you get yours from? How's the price? Reliability? Also, any good places to buy CD-RWs from?

Thanks

I usually wait until someone posts a great deal in the Hot Deals forums. Most of my CD's are used for audio so I don't really care about the quality. Besides, when the CD's are free after rebate, I can't really complain.

Varying places, but last weekend CompUSA had 50% all CD-R and CD-RW media so I picked up tons of disks--Fuji Taiyo Yudens, USA TDK's, TDK 10x CD-RWs and some Memorex Black CD-Rs to play with.

Needless to say I am set for a while.

I might also add that I'm looking for high-quality CD-Rs (so Maxells and the like are out of the question). I burn more than audio.. I make my own data CDs.

has cdrecorable changed their cd's? I remember when i first ran into them (this was a while back, when 4x burners were all the rage 🙂). I got a sample pack, and was not impressed at all. The cd's seemed thinner than normal, and were like compusa blanks, no protective layer on the top.

If they've changed, may be worth looking into. However, like most here, I need the hotdeals where i can get 50 for about $15 🙂 the kingstons at outpost altho from a crappy manufac, use a good dye. The fuji's, altho not a terribly good dye, is from an excellent manufac.

My 2 cents anyway.

Picked up a box of 110 80min PNY cds for 29.99-15 rebate. Not the greatest but 14cents each is a bargain.

Because I don't have a cdrw drive, there's no need for me to buy CD-Rs. I should probably buy a drive before considering cd-r media.

😉

Last spindle I bought was a 50pk Imation 12x from Best Buy for $5 after rebate, and a 50pk of free, after rebate, slim line jewel cases from CompUSA.

Time before that was a 50pk spindle of Kodak 12x's from CompUSA for free after rebate. Still working on those Kodaks. Only had the burner since last August and don't burn too much.

differs everytime, but since the outpost deal went out, its been from one the big 3 - compusa, best buy, or circuit city...depending on where the good deal was when I needed it.

100 80 min PNY cd-r for free after rebate and coupon. these babies should last me a loooong time...

don't care about quality when you've got 100 free to try until you get it right.
free is good 🙂

DannyLove, that's where i bought my last batch of cd-r's

not too happy with the percentage of coasters that came in the package, so i think i'll stick with paying a bit more for cd-rs from outpost.com

I got mine from that one deal at OM fuji film for $15, I stocked up and now I don't need anymore cds, dang I love japanese cds.

I get mine from the Speaker people. When they drive up in their van and ask me if I want $2000 speakers for $160, I say "no thanks, but do you have any CD-Rs?" Except they're DOGG DATA brand, not sure if that's any good.

😛

Got mine from Fairplex Pomona also 🙂
And outpost.com when they had free shipping...still have a few spindles left 🙂

I just usually buy them from whatever B&M store has a good weekly special going. Never had any problems with CD-Rs. The one time I thought I had bad media, it was actually my Yamaha CD-RW that had gone bad (2 weeks after warranty expired--Murphy's Law, right?). . . .
