Where do you get shipping supplies?

I'm thinking of selling some books online but I don't know where I'm going to get the shipping supplies. Does USPS give out Media Mail envelopes for free?

Go to the main USPS website at USPS and you can go to their store. Register and sign in and you can get the boxes and stuff for free 🙂

I suggest going to Staples or something similar for supplies, since mail packaging stores charge you an arm and a leg.

USPS Prority is free packaging.

Yeah, Stay FAR away from Mail Boxes Etc!

I sell books on ebay. They don't usually sell for much - media mail is the way to go, but sometimes first class is a dime or 2 cheaper. If you buy expensive wrap, that eats up the profit.

Supplies: Ask around and find a source of used bubble wrap. I bring it home from the office, but if you keep asking you'll find somebody who has bunches of it. Stores? Friends? Whatever. Then I use a 9x12 or 10x13 manila envelope (which I also bring home from the office so they don't cost anything). If I don't have any envelopes I use brown paper grocery bags.

make sure you send only express or priority, otherwise its illegal to use their stuff.

just buy boxes at office stores like staples or officemax.

Grrr, I went to the post office expecting to find boxes like this out front and they only had those ones that they charge you for. $2.75 for a box that should be free priority mail type, I was in a jam. Now, I'll have 25 boxes waiting to go. Thanks!
