I personally use newegg to buy everything and anything I need... I was wondering if anyone uses a different/cheaper site other than newegg for their computer needs. I've looked for a long time but couldn't find one... ty

Another nice feature about Multiwave for us locals: they'll let you do a "will-call" and avoid shipping charges. Newegg only ships.

For us locals there is the added benefit of picking up cheap returns and slightly damaged merchandise from the counter on the left when you walk in the willcall door.

Here in Houston, I've got Axion and Directron very close to me. They both allow will-call. Axion also has no-charge walk-in. Directron has a $10 walk-in charge. Of course, both places also do mail order and have great selections at good prices. Axion has a "no profit on shipping" policy too.

I always shop around, but I still order often from newegg even if they do charge tax for being in Calif. I always check out of state shops like Axion and Directron just to see if I can save with no tax.

I don't shop at one particular shop. I look on Price Watch most of the time to pick the seller I want.

The main suppliers of my habit are:

Newegg
Mwave
Googlegear (while their shipping is a little high, their prices are often better than Newegg and Mwave. AND they have a larger stock than both)
Techonweb (GREAT prices on some printers and Antec cases)
Ibuydig (For GREAT prices on Digital Cameras)

When these fail to have exactly what I want, some good backups are:

Comp-U-Plus
MicroX-press
Provantage

I do NOT recommend MicroX-press as they really screwed me. The specs on their site were way off. I ordered 11 "Ball Bearing" fans from them. The ones I got were crappy Sleeve Bearing fans. They never returned my Emails. I will never buy from them again.
