Ever try to get a refund from Steam? Then try to get a refund from EA's Origin; *tell you which one is like getting blood from a stone and which one is easy; will surprise you*....Steam's customer service was never great to begin with....now utter crap compared to Origin; GoG; Greenman gaming.

Lots of places to get games........depends on where you look and if you want to use vpn or not ;)

Good point; on the other hand I prefer to wait for reviews, so my need to return games is pretty low. ;)

There are may places to get good prices on games. Due diligence is suggested, as if you make a purchase from a shady seller, then it ultimately will be you whom is out of the money.

-Ebay can sometimes have good prices for steam keys, and Ebay, if you use Paypal, has some-what of a guarantee.

-Kinguin.net Kinguin.net is decent imo relative to g2a which is often not talked about favorably. On Kinguin, with some of the sellers at least, you have the option to pay a very small fee for a 30 day guarantee of your purchase. I paid 42cents on a $42 game. This came into account when the game I had purchased eventually was revoked. I contacted Kinguin, and within a few days I was refunded the cost of the game.

Nuuvem.br often has very prices for games. I've purchased over 30 titles from Nuuvem. With customer support they are quick, and very easy to deal with.

There are services that will help you to find lower prices and/or pricing history to gauge whether you're getting a deal or not.

Enhanced Steam is a nice browser plugin that I find very useful for locating quickly the lowest cost a game has sold for(in order to know around what price I should be able to expect to find), where it is cheapest at any given time (the sellers they list/use in their pricing are usually respectable outlets, that sell officia keys). It does not include sites like ebay, kinguin, or other re-selling types of outlets.

The best place I could mention for anyone to find good deals on games, at least for my time, is http://www.reddit.com/r/GameDeals/

All in all there are a ton of sites out there to find great deals. Buy at your own risk, and make sure you know what recourse you have if you are buying from non-official sites/outlets.

Hi guys.
I've been sticking with Steam, I like to see all my games in the one place. But because I'm still new to PC gaming, the last game I got was from my local library and it was on cassette. Think it was Robocop Vs Terminator. They were the good old days, nbollocks you'd wait for ages to load up and the last few seconds it would crash. We've come a very long way in such a short time.
Enjoy your games from where every you buy them and thanks for all you help and advice.
Cheers
Karl

Like many, I buy them on Steam, GoG, Green Man Gaming, and very rarely (only two times so far) on GamersGate. I don't buy retail games anymore (since years) for the PC (the last retail PC game I bought was C&C 3). I do still buy retail games for consoles from time to time, however (Wii, Wii U, and older consoles for collecting purposes).

Hi Karl, when I read your posts, I visualize Karl Pilkington saying the things you have written. It is very amusing for me.

Anyhow, I am a big fan of Steam, and buy my games there. Otherwise, I have a small number of games from other sources.

Steam. I don't like dealing with other digital distribution because I forget what I have, and I hate physical media.

For you GreenMan Gaming buyers, ever have a rejections from your CC (Amex)?
I suppose it is because they are not in the US?

Most of the time I purchase from Steam.

Other times I get good deals from GOG, Greenman and Origin. Although I have a LOT of games I activated through Steam that I picked up through the HUMBLE BUNDLE. :)

Just the other day, I got Crysis 3 for $5.99 from Greenman. Since I havent played it, Seemed like a good deal.

Mostly Steam.
Sometimes GOG.
Rarely Amazon.

Have not purchased a disc game in quite some time.

Usually Steam but giving thought to going back to retail disc copies for the newer or bigger games as my 12mbps connection really makes downloading something like GTA 5 quite the chore.

Speaking of which, can anyone confirm if Origin allows disc installs once you register your game on Origin or is it a forced download while your disc becomes a coaster?I think this was the case with BF3 but i forgot honestly as its been that long since i bought something on disc.

99% Steam. I have PvZL Garden Warfare (for my grandson) and maybe a Battlefield on Origin. Bought a couple games (Fuel, maybe?) on GOG, honestly can't remember what they were or where the keys might be. I went from insisting on a physical copy to insisting on no physical copy. I might pay an extra $15 or $20 for day one titles, but all my games are in one place, easily reloaded or moved (okay, they are on different physical drives but all under Steam), and most everything I buy except day one titles I buy on Steam sales at crazy low prices. What's the point of ignoring crazy low prices chasing crazy low minus a dollar prices?

For ME3, i believe this was the case, it installed from the disc even though it is an origin game, been a while for my self too

pretty much steam.

I have just one account.

99% of games are on steam.

My library is in one place

I trust it to be around*

I do have games from a few other services (GOG, GMG, EA, UBI) but its been a while since I purchased from them. I would start to use them if perhaps there was a meta-app (similar to steam, but saved access info for other services) that would function the same way as steam. I'm done with the days of looking through "program files" and manually installing games.

*and if not, I trust pirates will crack that shit to ensure I can play what I paid for.

let's see ..
i dont buy AAA titles. i bought minecraft about .. around 1.8? so, 4 years ago? idk.

i pay a pro sub for quakelive and i spend some money in blacklight, occasionally. i think i spent maybe $40 on steam.

i'm sure i bought a couple games through GOG, mostly sales, mostly following links found here on AT. i'm pretty sure i spent at least five dollah on hard reset.

almost everything else (which is not a lot; Skyrim, fallout) comes from Game - the second-hand games store.
oh and i bought Wasteland full price .. ouch.

If its on gog then I will buy from there. Other than that I go for allkeyshop.com they list lowest price from sites like g2a. They have prices in euros. There is a sister site that has prices in usd.

if you like the price go to the site and see if you like it or not. I don't buy ubisoft games and avoid ea.

How can you buy Skyrim and Fallout second-hand?

They require Steam and Steam requires a code.

Only Steam. I refuse to bother with anything else. That means that I haven't gotten to play some games that I really wanted to, like Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, & the later Battlefield & Dragon Age games.

I got a free Witcher 3 GoG key with my video card. When I realized that I wasn't allowed to sell the key on the FS\FT forum I discarded it and just purchased the game on Steam. I like having all my games in one place.
