Where do you buy replacement chargers?

My mom's charger for her Inspiron 1420 just died. Amazon has some 3rd party ones that get questionable reviews.

Do you always stick with the genuine brand? Dell wants $60 + shipping

Staples might have Dell chargers... they have HP for sure.
fleabay also has them. I would personally hunt for a deal in a GOOD universal charger like a Kensington or targus. Check the hot deals forums, they pop every so often at aprox $30 or better.

Try Craigslist....actually, If you can get a model number for an OEM PM me. I may have a couple spares from an old job at home. let me know amperage and vintage of computer. Mine was an Inspiron 610.

Radioshack would be a place to look too.

Speaking of which, thank god they had a weird type cable to plug into my adapter. The cable that went from the plug to the brick in my adapter setup was starting to fray and internally and intermittently not working.

eBay. $10 - $15 shipped on average and we've bought hundreds from eBay for work and never had a problem.
