where do you buy pesto sauce?

I have found pesto sauce at Jewel no problem. You should make the real stuff, though. Get some fresh basil, pine nuts, parmesan, and extra virgin olive oil. Mix in a food processor and enjoy. You can look up the recipe online, but this is easy and tastes great.

Dude. Make it. This is elementary. It's not like you're trying to make the perfect french omelet or a chocolate souffle.

Costco carries a decent one at a decent price, but nothing beats home-made with lots of fresh basil, which you can grow yourself, and freshly ground pine nuts.

Use a primo virgin olive oil and true Italian Parmesan you grate yourself from an actual hunk and you not only can hardly go wrong, you will be bountifully rewarded.

It's simplicity itself, which is why the quality of ingredients is paramount.

Just don't forget the garlic! 😛

See its SO easy even mods can make it. 😉

Don't have a mixer, not planning to get one.

Just need a jar of pesto to satisfy my craving. I must have seen these sold in some supermarket. I am in L.A. so there is no jewel. I think safeway sells these but there is no safeway here in L.A.

help?

Any health food or co-op stores around? It's really not a gourmet product and should be available in almost every store...

If you don't learn to make pesto now, how are you going to have delicious pasta dishes when the global economy completley collapses and there is no such things as "stores" and "money" anymore?

if i were giong to buy it store made..id buy from costco just because i support everything from them...

though id make my own cuz its SO SO EASY. get a mini food processor (25$). process some pesto, put it in a mason jar.

how long does it take to shred up basil and de-skin garlic and toss it in the machine? 30 seconds?

Look at his Avatar, he's going to con you into trading your pesto for an iPod. Duh.

Vons or Pavillions = Safeway in SoCal.

EDIT:

If you look near where they have the Butoni pasta, they have some sauces, and I think I've seen pesto.

not only is pesto moronically simple to make...that which you linked to is not pesto.

I suspect this is why your quest for pesto has met with failure.

He's looking for big jars. He needs to start scoping the smaller jars if he wants pesto. Methinks he's been to Olive Garden waaaaaaaaaay too much. (one trip being too much, naturally).
