Where do you buy contact lenses online?

Where do you guys buy contact lenses online? I usually wear glasses but I want to start using contacts.

I've used lens.com, they all have pretty competing prices.

You need a prescription from an eye doctor though, but I got around that.

My experience has been that 1-800-Contacts has, at the very least, decent prices and EXCEPTIONAL customer service.

I've used probably six or more different ones and they're all exactly the same. They fill a box with a prescription and ship it to you. Exact same product, really hard to screw up an order, can't be damaged in shipping. It's a no-brainer. Find the best price, maybe find a coupon, and you're pretty much done. If they make you or your eye doctor jump through any strange hoops producing and verifying your prescription, move on to the next one.

Mind sharing how you got around that?

My eye doctor won't give me my prescription even though that are supposed to. I was looking to buy some from 1800contacts and did a chat with them, said I could only order the same contacts I get from my doc unless I have their permission.

Weird stuff.

You generally just give the online seller the name and address of the doctor. You don't really need to have a copy of the prescription itself.

And no, you won't be able to get any other brand or type of lens other than the one prescribed. I'm not sure why you think that's weird. It's part of the prescription itself.

The part that sucks about ordering online right now is that most manufacturers have set a floor for how much online retailers must charge. Its called Unilateral Pricing Structure, and it sucks. Added almost $50 to my last order.

Just seems strange to me that there's all these different brands of contacts and you can't use different ones without a prescription. I mean if they have the same size and correction numbers why wouldn't you be able to use it?

Different materials, transmissivity, and base curves.

I use Contact Lens King.

Acuvue Oaysis for a stigamatism have been subject to MAP pricing for the last year or so and they seem to be $40 a box at every site. Fuckers.

I need to try out some other brands and the sketchy, no prescription site seems like it might help if I cant get samples.
