where do u get your gas, the same place evertime, or the cheap place?

I dont understand some people...tonight i was driving by my local gas station and there are 2 directly across the street from each other, reading the prices i saw-

AM/PM gas statoin, low price- $1.55, high around 1.70
Mobil gas station, low price- $1.71, high $1.95

am/pm is more a local thing i guess...never heard of them till i came to cali...

but the mobil gas had at least 3 or 4 cars filling up and the am/pm had none...

I have never seen that mobil with cheaper prices...why do people still got there..almost .20 cents a gallon different...

Some people are very picky about their gas, since there's quite a difference between the different brands...

We dont get these gas stations here in Canada, we have like Chevron, Esso, Petro Canada, etc...

For example, I feel the car has a little more power with Esso gas, but gets better milage with Chevron... Petro Canada however, is just crap IMO... so most of the time I go to Chevron...

well, my family's asian so its been the cheap place for the 17 years i've been alive.

BTW, mobil does give out lots of incentives to keep their customers, speedpass, credit. as a matter of fact, amex gives us a whopping 2% off if we buy gas at mobil. unfortunately were not in the trucking business so that dosent really help much

im not at my fathers level..he will drive miles out of his way to get cheap gas...

if i am low on gas and have the option of 2 stations that i pass i will always go cheaper

how about "whatever nearby that is not outstandingly expensive compare to other stations" ?

There was one Texaco that was for some reason always 20cents more expensive than all the gas stations in the area. Needless to say, they were out of business fast.

When the gas price was very high, everyone else was in high 1.70's and 1.80's. This Texaco was going 2.09 for regular and 2.29 for premium.

Sunoco offers a Mastercard that gives you 4% off your gas purchases, and these days that's about 6-7 cents/gallon. Where I live, the cheap gas places are only about 5 cents cheaper, so I fill up at Sunoco.

Does it even matter what gas you pump? I understand there's variations between brands because of manufacturing differences but is it even noticeable to anyone or even your engine?

BTW, I always fill with 93 or 94 octane only which is the minimum my car will take.

I've read news articles and seen news stories on TV that all say there are only two or three major producers of automotive gasoline. They stated that the only difference between Chevron, Exxon, Texaco, etc. are the additives and detergents they put in the fuel. The fuel itself if all the same.

i usually go to the same mobil station, when i go out to the outlet mall theres a k-mart gas station with awesome prices and i try to fill up there as much as i can.

We have a Shell credit card which gets us 5% back on gas purchases so it's almost always cheaper for us to get gas there. Shell is pretty popular too, so we don't have much trouble filling up if we're on a trip.

I have a gas station right around the corner so that's what I use. I only have to fill up twice a month so I don't really pay attention to $. Plus they usually clean your windshield for you.

Gas stations in NJ are practically same in price for Premium.

Only a few pennies separating them so I get whatever is cheapest but I try to look for a decent name brand. No gaseteria crap.
