The catch is that it's not 'Genuine' and if it fucks up your printer, you're SOL. I only buy genuine ink/toner, but maybe I'm just a sucker. I have had lousy experience with no-name inks.

And if 'Genuine' ink fucks up your printer, you're still SOL.

I use SwiftInk Generics for my home laser.

Amazon. Been using compatible toner for years on my brother laser printer. No issue. I only buy genuine if I need it now.

I assume you don't use a Brother or Canon?

Those two brands generally don't make it difficult to make aftermarket ink. The reason why aftermarket ink screws up other printers is because the printhead is so complicated or built into the cartridge. For brother, at least, it's just a plastic container with ink in it.

OP, I've had one of these for four (4) years: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16828104748

Why have I used the printer for that long? ... because I also own one of these:

I print hundreds if not thousands of pages per year but never buy those overly expensive cartridges. Instead, I purchase 6 bottles of ink every two (2) years for about $25.

Bottom line: don't buy cartridges ...
