Comrade,

Under capitalist system, persons wishing to make profit purchase @ wholesale and sell those same items @ retail. So the answer to your question is "wholesalers". Usually you cannot deal with a wholesaler unless you are precertified by them and commit to buy $100,000s worth of goods. Or you could look around for outlet stores in your country.

yeah, you've gotta have a reseller permit, according to their website.

Most of the used, (not refurbed), computer equipment sold around the country is off-lease merchandise. These are usually computers, monitors and printers that were leased for a two or three year term and then replaced with new equipment. Many corporations do this with their vehicle fleets-in addition to office equipment.
I like to shop at the off-lease computer outlets. I've purchased Hitachi 17" monitors for $50 that are like brand new. I posted in these forums before about a Pentium computer that I bought for $25 that was from a defense industry supplier that still had confidential documents on the hard drive.

When you sign up to be a reseller for say amd intel and microsoft they send you a reseller kit that has lists of authorized wholesalers like ingram micro where you can purchase items cheaper in large quantities to resell at your store. I'd imagine that the larger companies get their stash directly from the manufacturer.

Dell uses Ingram as well.

Bulga, Ingrams' customer service number is 1 800 274-4800 if you wanted to call them and ask specific questions, hope this helps.

I have accounts at Ingram and Tech. Tech by FAR has the highest prices in the biz.

Ingram, I dont buy a lot of from them, but I do have clients that buy direct, who are very satisified. Dell buys HUGE amounts from ingram.

You need a resellers license and in some cases, a credit app on file.

The chain goes from MFR to U.S. Distributor, to usually another vendor and the end user.

TechData, D&H, Ingram, Bell, are some of the largest in the business.

Reseller must be able to exceed net purchase of $10,000 annually to apply for an account with Ingram Micro
(from the Reseller Account Application on Ingram Micro's website)

They probably have their distributors.

Distributors don't like to deal directly with consumers. Consumers return too many crap and are whiny and bitchy.

Keywords for buying from distributors are quantity and very strict return policy. Both significantly reduces cost.

Bluga,

According to their application, any account which fails to meet the expected purchase requirements may be "reviewed or deleted". Go to their website, go to "become a partner" and "join our reseller team". You'll find links for what other documents are needed and a link for the application form. The application form (pdf format) has the terms listed on it.

The minimum is $10,000.00/annum

You do not have to buy a certain amount for each purchase, but they do go pretty in depth to see if you are infact re-selling the products.

In regards to price, they start you with pretty crappy prices. (in some cases higher then new egg)

there are 7 stages of pricing. As you spend more (they calculate it by quarter) you get into higher stages, at stage 7. you can often get products for 20% less then Newegg, but stage 7 is $15 million/quarter+ I believe.

Currently a stage 4 user myself. Although hopefully this summer it'll increase to stage 5 or maybe even 6.

If you'd like prices, please contact me on AIM (Qosis55)

also, if you'd like product lists or to order something (for canadian consumers only) can aim me also.
