Where do these people covered in tatoos work?

I think the stigma about tatoos is fading with the younger generation. I dont have one, but I dont see a problem with them as long as they are in good taste, not like a skull tattooed to your face, or a picture of male genitals on your chin. Ive thought about getting a tatoo probably on my back, but I cant think of anything id really want to carry around with me my whole life.

Have you considered a skull tattooed to your face or a picture of male genitals on your chin?

I have 2, but I wont get anything I cant cover with shorts and a tshirt.

unless I ever get around to doing the partial sleeve I want, but I would do it in the blacklight or glow in the dark ink which mostly looks like wierd tan lines on guys as pale as me

1. Face/head tattoos are pretty much out of the question. The only people who get face tattoos are basically gang members.

gang member!

That's what having tenure or being in a union can do for you. I seriously doubt those people had the tats when they were originally hired.

I'm in a large tech company right now and whether or not someone is tattooed would have no influence on my hiring decision.

I have worked with people of incredibly disparate appearance in my career. I've worked with a project manager who was only a little over 3 feet tall, I've had some extremely obese clients and coworkers, I've worked with an amazing litigator on the executive level who I think had tourettes (severe facial tics and stutter), etc. Tattoos would not even register with me when I was interviewing really, and if I did take note of them I wouldn't care. A person's skin or physical appearance has nothing to do with their ability to do the job.

The guy who maintains our radio tower at work for the PD, FD, Village, and Verizon (leases the tower), along with troubleshooting various connection issues is tattooed up and has several piercings through his nose and ears. Cool guy too.

Such as the ones with visible neck tatoos, sleeves, behind the ears, and around the eyes. I saw one guy with tear drop tattoos and something scribbled on his forehead.

Where do these people work? Who employs them? Some factory working way in the back? Tattoo parlor? Creative work?
I say they should work anywhere they are interested in and qualified to work.

Tattoos are for freaks and losers?🙄

/sarcasm and a lot of haters and stereotyping lamers in this thread!

I don't understand tattoos. Why would someone put something on themselves they wouldn't hang on their walls? Besides the fact I'm Jewish, and not only is it against my religion, we were tattooed in the concentration camps so it has a negative connotation.

The designs look cooler on a body than they do on a wall. The designs that professor above got look pretty hip. It's not my thing personally, but I'm glad there's people around that do it.

What's dumber, spending a couple grand on home theatre equipment that'll be in the landfill in 10 years, or spending a couple grand on body art that'll be with you the rest of your life?

^ agreed.

There are a few that aren't exactly the brightest though as well, but many of those are artists, esp. tattoo artists.

Most of the people I've met with full tattooing(not just random prison crap), are some of the smartest, most insightful people I've met. I'd have more confidence in them than the average ATOTer ;^)

it's not like tattoos originated in the concentration camps tho. just because bad people do something that normal people do doesn't mean everyone should stop.

I wouldn't learn anything from that guy. It's not the social norm of any western society. How is anyone expected to learn public speaking when the person teaching is nothing but a bad teenage decision or adult acid trip gone bad.

nevermind that, he's distracting at all fuck.

I'm in the 120k+ range and work for oracle and have a full sleeve on my left arm, including a spider web on my elbow. It's never been an issue for me at the last few jobs I have had. So whoever thinks you can't get a 'real' job with a 'real' company pull your head out of your ass because clearly you haven't worked in enough places to realize that having visible tattoos in this day and age is not a job killer.

Did I say everyone? I could care less what anyone else does, but it is against Judaism to have tattoos (worshiping idolatry, etc). If you have a tattoo you cannot be buried in a Jewish cemetery (with the exception of concentration camp tattoos).

And yes, having tattoos forcibly put on you for your religion and being associated with killing 6 million of your fellows kind of takes the thrill out of it.

I've been considering getting something that looks like this.

Maybe not necessarily pi, but some sort of tattoo that spirals around my right arm that I won't grow tired of. I'll get it so that I can cover it up with a long sleeve shirt if I must. Brother/sister want me to get it on my back, leg, or just on the shoulder. I'm waiting a few years to get it.

I'm an electrical engineering student. You'd be surprised to see what some of the older individuals in my classes look like.
