<2 cannot graduate, atleast from what I know.

Top schools as in Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Penn.

Firms as in top firms on Wallstreet, top law firms, etc.

They were basically tied. Kerry started really bad (mostly Ds) and improved over the years (mostly high Bs). Bush was flat in the C range most of the time. In the end, there average was about the same.

In this economy, the ability to shine in the interview is pretty important, this can be done regardless of GPA. What is needed is an inside person. If you know someone that can refer you to HR for interview, that is your step in the door. This is what I have been finding out over the past few months.

then after your first job your real-world experience should trump GPA.

I am saying that being well-connected can get your foot in the door for the all important interview. Whether your GPA is hot or not.

And top schools does not mean only Ivy league.

And also, this is in reference to OP's hypothetical 2.0-3.0 GPA student @ a top school. Which you essentially need connections to get many positions in that case.

QFT. Can be the difference between getting the interview or not, have experienced this first-hand. Someone can be better-qualified (on paper) and still miss out because referrer knows you are passionate about X.
