Lemme guess, you're overweight. :)

Who you calling overweight, little boy?

:p

Yeah, I've gotten F-A-T since I got hurt a few years ago...but I'm 6'-1", and before I got hurt, weighed about 210. I was NOT fat. BUT, not being able to get any meaningful exercise has taken quite a toll...so I now resemble my little cousin, Jabba.

I am a full-grown man. (and then some)

BR seems to have a fetish for skinny male clothing.

Not skinny, just not fat. I'm 6'0" and 165 lbs and I fit a size small at Banana Republic - and only properly if I pick up something that says "slim cut" on it. That's sort of nuts.

J.Crew (XS or S), Banana Republic, H&M, Gap, American Eagle (if you're a kiddy and like big labels) and custom made.

BR small is excellent for my 37" chest. Their Small stuff is just a tad long since I'm 5'4", but it's only an issue because my legs are so short relative to the rest. Just scored a 38S $400 blazer on sale, and it's a pretty good fit overall, but it's made for fat people (big waist). I need a tailor...

J.Crew is a new discovery for me (no stores in Canada yet, shipping is rape). Their XS shirt sizes (regular) are very slim fitting, so S is an option. Haven't tried jackets yet.

Gap was amazing last year, but too many people complained, and it looks like they made everything bigger and longer this year.

H&M is fine. I like their European fit suits, dress wear. Their casual stuff is cheaply made unfortunately.

I visited J.Crew in NYC when I was there in December - real letdown, but I do like what they showed online. Top Shop Man (aka Top Man) was great, though.

I always see 30x30 pants at department stores. Do those not fit?

Try wearing what I wear 30x34. Find those at your department store. You won't.

Yeah I'd probably look into Banana, J Crew, and Express Men for more casual wear, then maybe Brooks Brothers, Thomas Pink, and Charles Tyrwhitt (all fitted) for business wear. Of course it's always a good idea to get some of your nicer stuff tailored.

We only have a small boutique with Topman's stuff here. I was amazed at the sizing initially, then realized it was way too damn small, sized for emo kids, and way overpriced. Quality is worse than H&M while being more expensive.

Never been to a J.Crew store before, will get the opportunity this fall, or the next time I go to New York.

I'm going to guess someone who's better at math/science and makes more than you. :p

:p

Better at math and science...perhaps, but in my "working years," I made between $35-$40/hr...and averaged $80K/yr. for the last 10 years I worked construction.

I used to do home theater installations and some of the richest guys were blue collar guys. Rich people will pay well for people do do their shit.

There was a builder who had a bad ass heated driveway so you'd never need to shovel. One guy had a landscaping business and we did a job for a house he bought for his daughter. One guy owned a bunch of jiffy lubes. Another worked in a family granite business. It was a townhouse with an elevator in it. It made no sense since it was only like 3 floors and I don't think it was for a disabled person. What's crazier is we installed like 3 or 4 lcds and two bose speaker systems and the dude was using a bath towel as a window curtain.

No, 30x30 fits me fine, its mainly the shirts that don't fit correctly. The thing though is that 30x30 is kind of rare too.

Shens

Asians do not have muscles unless your name is Bruce Lee or Bolo Yeung.

That made me lol.

So I'm trying to buy a whole new wardrobe for my dress clothes for work and I noticed that nothing fits.

I don't care if my everyday clothes, (hoodies, jeans, tshirts) don't fit right as they're just casual, but dress clothes for work has to fit right. I went to the mall the other day and there were three kinds of dress shirts, regular, fitted, and slim.

Lets just say 80% were regular and 20% were split between fitted/slim. My size is a small fitted or slim, but this size is nearly non existent. Everything was Regular large/XL, pretty much it looks like I'm wearing a poncho.

So does anyone else have this problem? If so where do you buy your clothes? I forgot to mention that I have a muscular build so thats also a problem.

Go to a Tailor?
